This year is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, the guru of Ananda Marga, affectionately known as Baba. The centenary celebrations include a film, exhibition and photo book.
Embodiment of Bliss: The Life and Legacy of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti is a feature-length documentary film produced for the occasion of the birth centenary of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti which takes us on a whirlwind tour of the life of a modern-day tantric guru, spiritual master and social revolutionary extraordinaire.
Screenings this year (2021) will be exclusively through global online events. Over 1,000 people viewed the three premiere screenings around Baba’s birthday. Dear Sister, Namaskar, Happy Baba’s centennial birthday! As you probably know, this year we celebrate Baba’s centennial birthday with events all year round, all around the world. The main celebration event of the Women’s Welfare Department of New York sector (from Canada to Panama) will be held online, on November 5- 7, 2021. Please reserve these dates. This event is going to be very special because it will be organized and run only by women and children. We would like to create a space for Margii sisters of the New York sector to express their love for Baba by sharing and presenting something that touched them, to offer their own unique voice, at our Guru’s feet. This will be a celebration of inspiration. Celebrating together our womanhood, our vast experience which is often unappreciated, our wisdom which often goes unshared, our unique capacities, talents, and voices. The entire program will be made of classes, performances, talks, and presentations all made by the sisters of New York Sector and their children. The program will be bi-lingual (Spanish and English with live translation) and everybody is welcome to be a spectator. What are we looking for at this point? We are looking for sisters of NY sector to present, perform, give a talk, dance, play music, etc.Each woman/girl is welcome to contact us to share what she would like to present. It can be a talk about spirituality, a class on Baba’s philosophy, a piece of art, a dance, a Prabhat Samgiita, a devotional song. But it doesn’t end here. We are very interested to hear about an inspiring book you read, about a life experience you had as a woman facing obstacles, a unique achievement you attained as a woman facing nowadays society. We also want to hear about your work experiences and insights. You may think that you are very ordinary, having a very ordinary life, and have nothing to share. That is so untrue. Each of us, each woman living on this planet is a whole world, full of wisdom, experience, and the capacity to inspire others. imply by sharing a piece of your life you are sure to touch other women’s hearts. It can be a small piece or a huge one. We trust you to find the right piece to share. Usually in such programs, we get to hear mostly from those who are comfortable coming forward. This time we would like to add also the voices of those who are not used to do that. We know that there is so much inspiration and empowerment waiting to be expressed when you choose to share something of yourself with us all. Each of us will be like a flower, intertwined with the flowers of other women, together making a huge bouquet of flowers, to be offered at the feet of our creator, our Guru.
